Welcome to SchoolSpare ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our website at schoolspare.com (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. About SchoolSpare

SchoolSpare is a free online marketplace that allows parents and guardians in the UAE to list, buy, and sell used school uniforms, books, bags, and related items. We do not charge any fees for listing or purchasing items. SchoolSpare is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers — we are a platform only.

2. Eligibility

By using SchoolSpare, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age.
• You are a parent, guardian, or authorised representative of a school-aged child in the UAE.
• You are capable of entering into a legally binding agreement.
• You are not prohibited from using the Platform under any applicable law.

3. Account Registration & Verification

To list items, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
• Verify your email address before accessing seller features.
• Complete the two-step login verification (email verification + one-time code) each time you sign in.
• Keep your password and verification codes private and not share them with anyone.
• Notify us immediately at evansearttu@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Take full responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we believe are being used fraudulently, or that have been reported repeatedly by other users.

4. Content Moderation & Admin Rights

SchoolSpare is a moderated platform. We actively review reported content and take action to keep the marketplace safe and trustworthy. As the platform operator, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to:

• Remove any listing that violates these Terms, is reported by users, is deemed misleading, inappropriate, or harmful.
• Suspend or permanently delete any user account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, harasses other users, or repeatedly posts prohibited content.
• Delete all listings associated with a suspended account and remove all related content from the Platform.
• Restrict access to any feature of the Platform for any user at any time.
• Retain or remove user-submitted content (including photos and descriptions) as required to maintain Platform integrity or comply with legal obligations.

We will exercise these rights reasonably and in good faith. Users who believe their content or account was removed in error may contact us at evansearttu@gmail.com to appeal the decision.

5. Listing Rules

When creating a listing on SchoolSpare, you agree that:

• All information provided is accurate, honest, and not misleading.
• The item is genuinely available for sale and belongs to you.
• The price does not exceed AED 250 per listing.
• Photos uploaded are real photos of the actual item being sold.
• You will not list counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, or illegal items.
• You will not post duplicate or spam listings.
• You will mark listings as "Sold" promptly once an item is sold.
• You will not post any content that is offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate.

6. Prohibited Items

The following items may NOT be listed on SchoolSpare:

• Counterfeit or replica goods
• Weapons, dangerous items, or anything prohibited by UAE law
• Prescription medications or medical devices
• Items that violate intellectual property rights
• Adult content of any kind
• Items unrelated to school use

7. Transactions & Contact

All transactions between buyers and sellers are arranged independently via WhatsApp. SchoolSpare is not involved in any transaction, payment, delivery, or dispute between users. We do not handle money, escrow, or guarantees of any kind.

You are solely responsible for:

• Verifying the condition and authenticity of items before purchasing.
• Arranging safe meeting locations for exchanges (we recommend public places).
• Any disputes, misunderstandings, or issues that arise between buyer and seller.

8. Safety Recommendations

We strongly recommend:

• Meeting in a public, well-lit place (e.g. a school entrance, mall, or café).
• Bringing a friend or family member when meeting strangers.
• Never sharing your home address with unknown buyers or sellers.
• Inspecting items carefully before completing any exchange.
• Trusting your instincts — if something feels wrong, walk away.

9. Photos & Content

By uploading photos or any content to SchoolSpare, you confirm that:

• You own the content or have the right to use it.
• The content does not infringe any third-party rights.
• The content is not offensive, misleading, or illegal.

You grant SchoolSpare a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your content on the Platform for the purpose of operating the service. We do not sell or share your photos with third parties.

10. Privacy & WhatsApp Numbers

Your WhatsApp number is collected when you register or create a listing. It is only visible to other logged-in and verified users on individual listing pages. We do not publicly display phone numbers on the homepage or in search results. Your login is protected by email verification and a one-time passcode (OTP) system to prevent unauthorised access.

11. Reporting & Moderation

Users may report listings that violate these Terms. We review all reports within 24 hours and reserve the right to remove any listing or account at our sole discretion without prior notice. Repeated violations will result in permanent account suspension and removal of all associated content.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

SchoolSpare is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy or completeness of any listing.
• The quality, safety, or legality of items listed.
• That the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• That any transaction will be completed successfully.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SchoolSpare, its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, any transaction between users, or any content posted on the Platform.

14. Intellectual Property

All content on SchoolSpare that is not user-generated — including the logo, design, code, and text — is the property of SchoolSpare. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the UAE.
